2 Wide-calf Boots You Can Get Now
While Adam and Eve argued over an apple, a plus-size woman was in the background searching for boots that would fit her thick calves.
It’s 2024 and so many basics are not available for fat people. You go to a hotel and the towel provided barely covers 25% of your body, spas expect you to ‘relax’ while you wear a robe that makes you feel like an exhibitionist, and shopping in person is still a rare occurrence for plus-size people.
As a fat content creator, I share rare finds we don’t usually get to have. Like, these two wide-calf boots that perfectly fit my 18-inch calves.
Stretchy Over the Knee High Boot ($34.99, Amazon)
The boots come in 10 color options and 3 different heel heights and some go to a 13W.
I ordered the boots but kept the bag it came in, expecting it wouldn’t fit. The zipper seemed to run up my leg in slow motion as it closed. To my utter surprise, it went past my knee!
Before I recommended the boots I needed to take them out for a spin. I styled them with this black and white dress from Asos and a vintage blazer.
As I treked down the streets of New York I realized that these boots are not for warm weather. This boot is best kept for a cooler day and not to be worn immediately after applying lotion.
The inside of the boot has a silicone strip that grips your thigh, however, the left boot slid down while the other stayed in place. I’m still trying to figure out if it was the lotion I applied before putting on the boot or if my left leg is the skinny sister.
Unlike most boots, this one needs a thick calf to cling on. My calves only reach 18 inches but I think they could comfortably fit at least 21-inch calves.
Buckle Square Toe from Athlefit ($42.49, Amazon)
The boots only come in two color options.
Unlike the first pair, I plan to wear these boots all summer. I can picture myself wearing it with a mini dress or tiny skirt like I did here.
The boot has 6 buckles but only the first two and the last one are needed to make space to put them on.
I struggled trying them on the first time but after the 3rd wear, I can easily slide them on without breaking a sweat. The inside of the boot is my favorite feature, it has lots of room and feels extremely soft and cozy.
This pair of boots can also hold a couple more inches!
Now that you are an informed shopper will you be getting them?
