Over a month ago, I “noted” (or whatever the proper conjugation for Notes is) about the Ecuadorian brand Hera. The red dress with mother-of-pearl swirls on the chest, along with other items from their latest collection, had me in a chokehold.
I discovered Hera a few years ago and began following them on social media. Honestly, I had no intention of shopping with them. I assumed they would be another cool indie brand I would have to enjoy from afar. Later, I learned they were an Ecuadorian brand, so I had to at least check out their site.
I prepared myself for disappointment as I scrolled through the site and realized most designs were only available in S, M, and L.
The designer, Isabel Perez, said the lack of size availability is a technical error they are working to fix. All designs can be made in plus sizes.
“I offer custom made pieces because I realize that my brand has everything to be a more inclusive brand. I want to show the world that beautiful designs can also be available in any size you need or want…any piece you see in our website can be custom made to any sizing, you can contact us in our chat available on our website. We are happy to help so that any piece you like from our collection fits you perfectly,” says Perez.
The collection I bought from is Hera’s interpretation of bridal. It showcases 6 dresses ranging from $160 to $440 and can be custom-made in white.

I fell in love with the collection and bought the Lars Embellished and Beatrix dress for $469.

Shopping with Hera really tested my instant gratification addiction. It took about 6 weeks to arrive.
